About the Venue
Dorney Court
One of England’s finest Tudor manor houses, Dorney Court is Grade I listed and has been home to the Palmer family for over 500 years. With its fairy-tale gabled roofs, landscaped gardens and the charming 12th-century Church of St James the Less just steps from the reception, your entire wedding day can unfold beautifully on one estate.
Dorney Court is one of those truly special places — a genuine 500-year-old family home that still feels warm and welcoming rather than stuffy. The Palmer family are lovely, and having the 12th-century church just steps from the reception means your whole day unfolds in one beautiful location. Jade adores working here — it’s just a few minutes from Windsor and the Tudor architecture creates the most romantic atmosphere.
Location: Dorney, Berkshire SL4 6QP — approximately 3 miles from Windsor.
Getting Ready
Gale Cottage, a lovingly renovated self-catering cottage beside the Coach House Barn, is included for the wedding day and serves as the bridal getting-ready space. Standard check-in is from midday, so if you need an earlier start for hair and makeup, Jade recommends confirming earlier access with the venue.
The cottage has a lovely, homely feel that makes the morning relaxed and intimate. Jade can set up her station comfortably, and being right next to the barn means you’re just steps from your ceremony when the time comes — no stressful car journeys or timing worries.
Capacity & Setting
Up to 140 for dinner in the Coach House Barn, 50 in the Great Hall, or 15 in the intimate ancient Parlour.
A Tudor estate with gabled manor house, walled gardens, a sunlit courtyard with an almost Mediterranean feel, and the 12th-century Church of St James the Less on the grounds. Everything you need is within a short walk.
What Brides Love
The stunning photographic backdrops at every turn, the manor house lit dramatically at night, exceptional food, and the timeless romance of a genuine 500-year-old family home. Having the church on the estate means the whole day flows beautifully without any travel between ceremony and reception.
Your Wedding Morning
What to Expect on the Day
Jade will arrive at Gale Cottage and set up her station with a detailed schedule for your bridal party. The cottage atmosphere is lovely — intimate, relaxed, with everyone close together and the excitement building as the morning goes on.
She works through each member of the bridal party while you enjoy the morning with your favourite people. Being just steps from the Coach House Barn means there’s no rushing into cars or worrying about being late — when you’re ready, you simply walk across.
Jade stays with you right up until the ceremony, handling any last adjustments and making sure you feel absolutely beautiful as you walk through that ancient doorway.
Jade’s Tip
Hair & Makeup at Dorney Court
Gale Cottage check-in is midday — for larger bridal parties needing an early start, Jade recommends confirming earlier access with the venue so there’s no rush on the morning timeline. The venue team are accommodating, so don’t be afraid to ask.
Dorney Court is just about 5 minutes from Jade’s base in Windsor, so she can practically pop home if she’s forgotten anything — not that she ever has! She knows this venue incredibly well and it’s one of her absolute favourites to work at.
The Tudor architecture and walled gardens create some of the most beautiful bridal portraits, so Jade always makes sure hair and makeup are completely finished with plenty of time for your photographer to capture everything before the ceremony.
